Community guidelines

Six rules. A moderator who removes something will name the one it broke.

  1. 1. Say where your information comes from

Every post carries a label: official, community, or expert. Quoting a government source is Official. Telling us what happened to you is Community. Speaking as a licensed professional is Expert. Never blend them into one post.

  2. 2. Be specific

Dates, form numbers, service centres, cities. A vague question gets vague answers, and vague answers on an immigration deadline can cost somebody their status.

  3. 3. Do not state your experience as settled law

What happened to you at one port of entry is real and useful. It is not a rule. Write it as what happened to you, and let the reader weigh it.

  4. 4. No selling

Consultancies, referral codes, paid services and recruiter pitches do not belong in a question or an answer. Deals and referrals have their own place with their own rules.

  5. 5. Protect people's details

Do not post receipt numbers, A-numbers, addresses, or documents — yours or anyone else's. Redact before you paste.

  6. 6. Argue with the answer, not the person

This community exists for people under a lot of pressure. Correct a mistake plainly and move on.
